Healds Green
I wonder can anyone identify the building in the background, it appears to have closed shutters in side the windows. Or, for that matter, do you recognise anyone in this group, or have any idea what the group was, or why the photo was taken?

healds green is in chadderton not middleton and is a rural hamlet not the same a s Heald green in wythenshawe.
Martin Oakley is my partner and he lived up there for 30 years with his mum Ellen (nellie or Nell) Oakley) from the 1950's. His dad John was the ambulance man but sadly died in th e70's.
We have just been up there to celebrate the reopening of the school hall now a community centre, after a year's restoration programme funded and done by the hard work of the villagers. It has been a wonderful day.
